PRE-MEETING WORKSHOP

I.         Agenda Addendum

           Chris Fife, a full-time Rec employee is going from a probationary status to a regular status.

II.        Miscellaneous Communications

           Two memos from Jesse Lightle to the Board of Trustees were discussed.  The memos listed the concerns and the status of each concern brought up at the last two Trustee meetings by residents of the northeast and northwest quadrants of the Township.

           A letter dated May 22, 2009, from Joe Litvin, Montgomery County Engineer, was reviewed.  In his letter, he recommends separating the improvement to Austin Pike from Washington Church to Yankee Street and the improvement to Yankee Street from Austin Pike to Winding Green Way.  He believes they should be treated as separate projects.

III.       Announcements

           Carol Fisher resigned from the Board of Zoning Appeals.

           The demolition charge for the Township-owned house on Social Row Road was $4,062.

           Southview Hospital will be receiving an award on June 12 at 1:00 p.m. and invited the elected officials to a photo shoot.

           John Husted will be visiting the Township on June 22nd from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

           Jo Scott gave an update on the Ethel Winterhalter house.  She described the scope of work to be done, the history of the building and the physical survey.  The Landmarks Foundation would like to fund a history search and physical survey of the house and out buildings.
          
           Jo Scott gave an update on the dance studio on McEwen and issues regarding parking.  The owner of the building was asked for a parking plan.

IV.       Sheriff Plummer

           Sheriff Plummer discussed Montgomery County’s financial issues and the current economic situation with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

V.        The reception for the southwest quadrant residents will follow this workshop.  It was scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. and would continue until 7:30 p.m.

All formal actions of the Board of Trustees of Washington Township concerning and relating to the adoption of resolutions and/or motions passed at this meeting were adopted in an open meeting, and of any of its committees resulting in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with the law, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
