Members present:  Bob Harrington, Mable Leyes, Marlene Tiernan, Kathy Yanko, Mack Van Allen, Cheryl Mauer.

Members absent; Sandra Drain, Greg Henderson, Cynthi Fraley, Mitzi Lowery.

Others present; Mike Wanamaker.

April 9, 2008 minutes were approved with no questions.

Attendance of members was discussed. Harrington requested that the minutes will reflect absence members.  He will track attendance.

Wanamaker reported about the Arbor Day plantings at Hithergreen Center. Three (3), five-foot tall Norway spruce trees were planted outside of the work-out room. These plantings are a part of the landscape sketch by Sandy Spees. The committee would like to thank Mary Lou and Jack Schauer for the tree selection.

Wanamaker updated the group about Master Gardener’s plantings.

Tiernan spoke about the Beautification Awards. She suggested that a card of recognition be sent to the nominees. Yanko will help take photos of the nominees.

Leyes inquired about changing the name of Yanks Park to reflect VIP members.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:25 pm
